Last.fm coming to Japan May 19, 2006Posted by fukumimi in IT, Japan, Music.
Last.fm, the UK based music based SNS and personalised webradio startup (which has recently announced that it has taken money from Index Ventures) has announced that it will be starting a localised Japanese service this year together with local portal Excite Japan.
Excite Japan's majority shareholder is trading company Itochu.
Music related services are one of my personal interests, hopefully Excite will be true to their word and make Last.fm plug-ins and widgets and the like available for the Japanese version as is the case for the original site. And hopefully the blog service providers and social networking sites will begin to open up their gardens a bit more.
